hardly working
Pet PhotographyLast month I quit my full-time serving job of two years to focus more time towards my creative business. The decision was made on a whim so that I could get time off work to go out of town on a particular weekend, but I’m so glad I took the leap!
While income from my creative business has been steadily growing, I won’t lie to you and claim that I don’t need anything else. I’ve diversified my income and took on several side gigs, one of which is cleaning houses and doing yard work for my friends.
These are photos I took of Ben’s dog Lizzy and her Virginia Tech swag before I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the dining room floor she was sunbathing on. I can’t say enough how satisfying it is to set my own schedule and work on my own my own terms. I also can’t get over how good it feels to use this flexibility to dedicate time towards pursuing the clients I want to work for. I’ve made so much progress in the past month that wouldn’t have been possible without my admittedly questionable decision-making. I have no idea where I’ll be in a few months and that’s so exciting/scary! Bring it on.

Portrait Photography, Pet PhotographyI’ve photographed Pastor Meredith and her two kids before, so it was a treat to get to see them again and photograph the rest of the family. I’m so glad that we were able to shoot this at the stables where they keep their pony. It’s a beautiful view. If I could shoot here all the time, I would.
